• Did you know the Belmont County Veterans Service Office is one of 88 offices in Ohio that are here to provide assistance to veterans and their surviving spouses? These county offices are funded by a half-mill, inside property tax levy. For Belmont County, that half-mill is our sole source of funding for office staff salaries, drivers’ salaries, training, office equipment and more. Furthermore, our assistance, including grocery vouchers, utility assistance and ID cards are all provided for from these funds. We are neither a federal nor state office, but our service officers are nationally and state accredited. We are a county office that is funded by Belmont County tax payers.

•WE ARE NOT THE BELMONT COUNTY VA CLINIC.

IF YOU ARE TRYING TO REACH THE VA CLINIC IN ST. CLAIRSVILLE, THEIR NUMBER IS 740-695-9321. THE GOOGLE SEARCH LISTING HAD BEEN WRONGLY DISPLAYING OUR PHONE NUMBER AND WEBSITE AS THE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE CLINIC. IT IS STILL PROVIDING THE WRONG WEBSITE. WE ARE THE BELMONT COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE IN BELLAIRE.

• Next veterans meal will be Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. at  the main office, 400 Imperial Plaza, Bellaire. The event is being sponored and catered by Forest Hill Healthcare & Rehabilitation.

• Our main office is located at 400 Imperial Plaza, Bellaire (Behind Kroger.) Please call to make an appointment to use the office. 740-325-1042. All service officers go to lunch from noon until 1 p.m.

• Our satellite office in St. Clairsville is now open Tuesdays & Thurdays, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.. Closed Noon-1p.m. for lunch.

• The next regular meeting of the Belmont County Veterans Service Commission is now TBD. It will be at the Belmont County Veterans Service Office, 400 Imperial Plaza, Bellaire.  

• Applications are being taken for  van drivers. Applicants must be  a resident of Belmont County. Applicants DO NOT have to be a veteran. Applications are available at the Belmont County Veterans Service Office, 400 Imperial Plaza., Bellaire. Click here for a job application.

•All service officers take their lunch breaks from Noon until 1 p.m.

• Veterans who cannot make their appointment for the BCVSO vans are to call instead of just being a “no show” for appointments. Those who miss three appointments with the van without calling will be suspended from riding the van. To schedule or cancel the van, please call the office at 740-325-1042. Pittsburgh VA and the VA Clinic in St. Clairsville are NOT affiliated with The Belmont County Veterans Service Office. If the hospital cancels an appointment, it is the veteran’s responsibility to contact the BCVSO to cancel transportation.

 

 

There is never a fee for any of our services. All of our service officers are accredited at the state and national levels.
